Maika

I work with individuals and couples. My approach combines tools and insights from psychology, psychotherapy, the personal growth & personnell development scenes. In my experience, no single school covers and is able to provide everything an individual needs to flourish. That's why I strongly believe in and practice an integrative approach that combines knowledge from different schools. My main tools come from:

  • attachment-based therapy
  • cognitive behavioral therapy
  • schema therapy
  • clarification-oriented therapy (developed by Rainer Sachse)
  • acceptance and commitment therapy
  • motivational interviewing

What I can help you with:

  • Relationships:
    • deepen your emotional connection
    • resolve confict
    • learn effective communication
    • process a breakup
    • process infidelity
  • Strengthen your sense of self-worth (self-esteem, confidence)
  • Improve the way you understand, relate to, feel & process your emotions
  • Recognize and change limiting mental habits & core beliefs
  • Unstick from your thoughts - not allowing thoughts to upset you
  • Overcome what's holding you back, understanding unconscious patterns that influence you in an unhelpful way and letting go of them
  • Find a better connection to your inner voice and guide, your inner sense of knowing and inner compass, figuring out what you want and what matters to you
  • Come to and make important decisions
  • Change difficult behavior
  • Develop healthy habits & pursue goals
  • Manage stress

My time-zone is Central European Time and I'm in my online office from 1-4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. One online video call session of 50 minutes costs 200 €. Couples can book 90 minute sessions for 300 €. You can book one session at a time.

Research and my experience show that most change happens relatively early, in the first weeks and months of 1:1 sessions. This is why, to help my clients make the most out of their investment, I work in a focused, time-limited way, rather than emphasizing longterm and ongoing therapy. This means I see clients for up to 20 sessions focused on specific goals. If, later, it becomes necessary to have another chunk of sessions, that’s possible.

If you want to know whether your insurance will cover these sessions, you can contact them and ask if they cover (partially or completely) sessions with an out-of-network mental health professional. Some of my clients in the US and Germany have been able to get reimbursed by their insurance.

Since I'm always fully booked, I keep a waitlist. The way this works is that you can contact me and request to be added to the list and I'll get back to you as soon as I have availability for a new client. It takes around 12 months for a new spot to open up.

For more information, to clarify questions, or to book a session, contact me with the contact form below.

I look forward to hearing from you!

(A note to service providers: currently, I'm not looking to hire anyone. Feel free to write to me, and I'll archive your email - however, please understand that I don't have time to answer your message.)
